When we started this project in the fall of 2000, we had no idea that it was going to grow to the levels it has grown to today. VOP is now active in so many ways with members in the US and all around the world. A few of our activities are listed below:-

  • Activisim within the American Media:

    - Various tools have been created on our website which allow our member base to communicate directly with 300+ member organizations like the "Media Action" tool which we maintain on daily basis. This tool allows members to keep the media in check for fair and balanced reporting.

    - VOP members participate in debates and radio shows to educate the public about the Palestinian problem and drive political awareness to the dangers of the Zionist movement and its inherent racism. Some of our recent activities can be viewed/heard below:-

  • KIRO 710 debate with AIPAC carried on TVW 4/29/2002.
  • Our members interviewed on KEXP 90.3 FM during the show "Mind over matters" on 5/11/2002.

    All of these debates and shows are done by members of VOP who donate their time and efforts to the cause.

    - Daily alerts are sent out to members of our newslist. These alerts are tracked by members who donate their time to scour the media sources on daily basis and provide content to the VOP membership.

    - Sponsoring events. We do our best to present alternative points of view to the biased media in the US. We invite many speakers and sponsor events where prominent writers/scholars present facts about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Please click here for an example.

  • Political participation:

    - VOP lobbies congressional representatives on regular basis. We have successfully conducted meetings with representatives on behalf of the Palestinian people in Seattle and attended meetings with high-level officials as a coalition member of the AACC (Arab American Community Coalition) to combat stereo typing and present the issues to the American community from our perspective.

    - Our website also contains tools that assist our members in communicating with public officials and congressional representatives. We believe that active participation in the political system is a must towards resolving our problem with the biased US foreign policy. One of our tools which is available to subscribed members is a tool that allows our users to communicate directly with a large number of cabinet members as well as public officials. This tool is provided for free to members of our group.

    - VOP plans to mobilize the local community in coming elections to drive voters to the polls and support representatives and public officials who support justice for the Palestinian cause. We believe that political participation is KEY in achieving positive results for Palestinians and in bridging the political gap between the administration and our cause.

  • Website administration and maintenance: Everything you see on this website has been donated in time and effort by people who truly believe in the Just cause of Palestinians and the tragedy of their suffering. Frequently, we have to compensate certain individuals or purchase tools which can not be volunteered and VOP members pay to provide the free service/product to the masses. This website has been attacked many times and maintaining its presence is becoming a challenge. With the right support and enough funds to maintain its existence, truth is passed along to the masses. We will do whatever is possible and within our means to keep the truth flowing. Thanks for reading and thanks for your support!
